Moving on Up: Reminder

A reminder to all incoming grade 9’s that our annual Moving on Up: A Head Start to High School program is coming up next Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The registration form and details for the program were mailed in June, but if you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time!

Either complete the form linked above and fax it to 416-393-0577 or phone guidance at 416-393-0620 extension 20040 to give the information over the phone.

Get Caught Reading

Last week Syed was “caught reading” and won a Tim Horton’s gift card! On Thursday we will draw from all the entries for the Indigo-Chapters gift card. Keep reading everyone!

Therapy Dog Visit

Come out to the field on Wednesday, June 7 during lunch to enjoy time with our PAWS therapy dog.  If we have inclement weather, please come to A12. Well needed therapy before exams!

Get Caught Reading

The Literacy Committee members have reintroduced the “Get Caught Reading”initiative. Students who are seen reading a book outside of class time have a chance to win a $10 Tim Horton’s gift card each week, and on June 9th all entries have a chance of winning a $50 Indigo gift card.

Mental Health Education Workshop for Parents and Caregivers

Central Toronto Youth Services is putting on a two-part mental health workshop for parents and caregivers.

Workshop 1: Wednesday, June 14; from 7-9PM

  • understand factors that influence mental wellness and mental unwellness
  • understand how to help your youth navigate the mental health system

Workshop 2: Wednesday, June 21; from 7-9PM

  • learn skills for building healthy relationships with your youth
  • learn skills for communicating across challenging emotional experiences

Parent-Caregiver Workshops @ CTYS

Rethink the Box 2017

On Thursday May 11th a team of Grade 10 students from Ms Tevlin’s and Mr Weight’s Engineering Design classes participated in the first annual Rethink the Box Challenge where they had to enhance a human ability. The team wowed the judges with not only their design, but also their teamwork and communication skills. Well done Danforth. We are looking forward to defending our title at the competition next year.

Danforth Tech Society Annual Golf & Fun Day

It’s DTS Tee-Off time! Danforth Tech Society will be hosting it’s annual golf & fun day!

Date: Thursday, June 20, 2013.

Location: The event will take place at the Maples of Ballantrae Golf and Banquet Facility in Stouffville.

Danforth Tech Society Annual Golf and Fun Day

It’s DTS Tee-Off time! Our Alumni team, the Danforth Tech Society, will be hosting it’s annual golf & fun day on Thursday, June 21, 2012. The event will take place at Maples of Ballantrae Golf and Banquet Facility in Stouffville.

There will be golf plus a roast beef dinner package available for $120. The golf package includes green fees, golf and power cart, a bottle of water, cart plate with a custom logo, bag on cart service, dinner, taxes and gratuities.

If you only would like to purchase dinner, the cost is $40. The social hour (cash bar) is from 5pm. Dinner is at 7pm. RSVP by June 1st.
