Congratulations of a fantastic XhibitArt15 showing and reception last evening at the Todmorden Mills Paper Gallery on Pottery Road.  The event was catered by our award-winning Culinary Arts department and entertainment was provided by our Jazz Band.  Special congratulations to Aninda Poddar and Hali Brookson whose works won the AGO Award and to Catrin Nin and Abrar Razze whose works won the Above Ground Award.  All four paintings were the first purchased.  C. The “Make a Splash” contest for Toronto students is now open for entries!  The City of Toronto and RBC invite you to enter the “Make a Splash” contest and tell us why it’s important to you that we keep Toronto’s waterways – our rivers, streams, creeks, and our great big lake – clean.  One elementary and one secondary school will each win $5,000 towards a project to green their school, courtesy of RBC.  Entries will be accepted until May 22nd at 5:00 p.m.                   J. This is an announcement for all students about tomorrow’s Safe Schools assembly!  Jack.org is a national network of young leaders who transform the way we think about mental health.  They have been invited to come and speak on the topic of mental health awareness at tomorrow’s assembly.  Teachers please refer to the green memo placed in your mailbox last week for the seating plan.    T. Do you still need community service hours?   Have you ever wanted to teach someone how to use a computer or make new friends while playing games?  The Danforth Intergenerational Partnerships Club is looking for new members to volunteer every week during lunch hours and after school.  You can finish your volunteer hours before the summer is over while have fun and making new friends.  TTC fare and refreshments are provided to volunteers.  If you are interested in volunteering please come and see Sara in the TIGP office, Room A36, any Monday to Thursday between 8:30 and 3:30.  S. The Coed Varsity Volleyball team finished off a busy week of play.  On Tuesday the team lost tough 5 set match to North Toronto CI.  Last night they won in 3 sets beating East York CI.  Outstanding play by all team members.  Next league game is at home on Tuesday verses Lawrence Park CI.  There will be a short meeting at the beginning of lunch in Room A28 for those interested in volunteering in this Thursday’s Coed Volleyball tournament.  J.P.
