On Friday Danforth Culinary Arts students competed at Fleming College in the “Cast Iron” competition.  Austin Michel received the 1st MVP award and Theo Sampson won the 2nd place MVP award.  Congratulations to all of the competitors.  C. Sutton

Announcements for Friday, March 28, 2014

TDSB Earth Hour is almost here!!  Today, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. all schools across the Board will be taking part in an effort to decrease their electricity use for one hour.  We are asking all Danforth CTI staff to please turn off all lights (or in classrooms with no windows, use minimal lighting), unplug all electronic equipment including TV’s, projectors, log off all work stations and allow them to go into stand by mode, and minimize fan use.  Thank you for your support.         B. Today is the United Nation’s International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimation.  As Canadians we join countries around the world in making the “fight against racism”, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, and the protection of victims thereof, a hight priority.  D. Danforth CTI’s Visual Arts Department presents “XhibitArt14” an exhibition of works of art by students and staff of DCTI at Todmorden Mills Papermill Gallery, 57 Pottery Road, Toronto, Ontario (416) 396-2819 from April 9th to April 20th (closed Friday, April 18th).  Gallery hours are from Wednesday to Friday, noon to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays. noon to 4:30 p.m.  The opening reception catered by the award-winning Culinary Arts program at Danforth, with music provided by the DCTI Jass Ensemble is on Wednesday, April 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with introductory remarks being at 6:00 p.m.  Hope to see you there.  C.
